Ashley's Rosary

Larry Lourcey

Hi and welcome to my blog!I do my best
to keep things updated and give you a look at things happening behind the scenes here at Lourcey Photography. Although I've been a professional photographer for over 20 years, I'm also semi-famous for my pizza and bread making. So follow along and enjoy the adventure. And don't be afraid to leave a comment and say hello!

THE ROSARY

For this next ONE subject, I'm thrilled to present Ashley and her grandmother's rosary.

Here is the story from Ashley:

Picking an item for this project was not easy- but I found something special to me I would absolutely want to save.

Growing up, I was raised by my catholic grandmother.  We would sit on a swing on the patio for what felt like hours, and we would have long winded spiritual talks. She was so wise, she was beautiful and mysterious.

One thing she taught me was about her rosary. She carried it with her wherever she went. She told me “Anyone can use this. Children, adults, rich, poor.” She taught me how to pray the rosary, how to meditate and cleanse the mind. It was so precious to her, for her soul and for her religious practice.

Right before she passed, she gave me her rosary. To treasure, to remember, and to hold her close to me. Her teachings and our moments.

I decided to try something slightly different last week. I had seen some folks online doing H...
