I’m starting to realize that this project would be a lot more fun if I didn’t wait until Monday night to start on that week’s portrait. Hopefully the panic stirs the creativity.
This week, I decided to go with a painted portrait. To make it interesting – and because it was getting late – I decided to limit myself to only 30 minutes of paint time (as opposed to the usual 4 hour or so). I ended up with a so-so image, then brought it into Photoshop to tweak it a little. I over-worked it a bit and realized that the brush strokes were becoming very pronounced… and I kind of liked it. As I pushed the effect further, I ended up with this almost VanGogh-like image.
