The Color of Life

One of the great things about art is that it is always changing.   Trying something new is what keeps your art fresh.  Lately, I’ve been playing around with adding more color to my paintings.  I created this ballerina image during the workshop last week.

I incorporated a LOT more color than usual on this piece, but I think it really worked.  The vibrant color really gives the work a sense of motion and excitement.  I can’t wait to display this at one of my upcoming exhibits.  I’d love to hear what you think!

I don’t claim to be an art expert but I do collect art and have gone to several auctions.

In my opinion, this painting is phenomenal.

I have several numbered pieces by Janet Treby. She now does more ‘western’ brown-tones but her original works were beautiful demure women and I have three of her works. Are you aware of her style? Your ballerina has more color but is similar in style.

Do you have any thoughts on creating a numbered set? I would LOVE to have a copy (or if you consider selling the original, please let me know).

It’s absolutely working man. The combination of different colors makes it more interesting, and adds more life to it. From the looks of it, she looks like a really talented ballerina and you are one heck of a painter. :)

    Just beautiful.
