Super Cypress

Feb 20

It was an absolutely wild weekend for me at the Southwest Professional Photographers convention.  I was very pleased with how my prints scored – especially my print “Silent Cypress”

I was floored when the image was scored a 98 – making it one of the highest scoring prints of the entire competition.  It was also awarded a Judges Choice ribbon.  Out of more than 700 entries, only 16 received the Judges Choice award – so it was very exciting!

The shot (top) was one of my digital infrared images taken in Uncertain, Texas – at Caddo Lake.  I have always liked shot, but never would have dreamed it would do so well.  By the way, the print of the ballerina (bottom) was mine.  It was titled “Take A Bow” and scored a 91 – so that was pretty cool too!
