Heather and I just returned from a wonderful weekend in Albuquerque – figured it was a great time to catch up on the blog.
I was speaking and judging at the New Mexico Professional Photographers convention, so we arrived a day early to see the sites. We ended up in Old Town and happened upon a fundraiser book signing. Four of the Navajo “Code Talkers” from WWII were setup in this gift shop, meeting with people and signing books. How lucky were we to stumble onto this?
We bought one of the books and stood in line to talk to them. They really had some incredible stories.
After our day of shopping and eating all day – it was off to the convention. Everything took place at the Route 66 Casino – just outside of Albuquerque. What a fun place to have a convention!!
I did a program on Print Competition Saturday night, judged the print competition on Sunday morning – then did a program on Sunday afternoon. I’m sure by Sunday afternoon everyone was quite tired of hearing my voice!
I got to see a lot of fabulous images and was lucky enough to be on a panel with some great judges.
The folks in New Mexico were so gracious – I hope to return there again soon! If I can dig up more photos from the weekend, I’ll post them later!
